Biography

Born in Rochester, Minnesota U.S.A., Christine Huvos spent her childhood in Paris - an American in Paris. Thus, from an early age on, she discovered the world of French chansons. When she was 12, Christine’s family moved to Vienna, where she got training as an opera singer. After passing her baccalaureate at the French School in Vienna, she returned to Paris to study German Literature and Philosophy at the Sorbonne, and got her B.A. in Cultural History of Europe in the XIXth Century at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, NY. She eventually got her Master’s in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) from the College of New Jersey, and spent many years teaching ESL, French and German all over the world. As a singer, Christine has attracted diverse audiences with her original interpretation of French chansons, American musicals, country music, jazz and blues. She has produced several CDs in Austria, Switzerland and in the U.S. Christine now lives in Zurich, Switzerland and is married to Dr. med. Urs Federspiel.
